Leave and absence
Leave management with balances you can explain
Every accrual, booking, adjustment and carry-over is a traceable entry, so a holiday balance is never a mystery.
Holiday queries are usually simple until the numbers do not match. When a spreadsheet has been edited by hand, it can be hard to tell why. Orbis HR uses a ledger, so each balance is made up of entries you can look through.
Ledger-based holiday balances
Each accrual, booking, adjustment and carry-over is recorded as an entry. If someone asks why their balance has changed, you can show them.
Carry-over rules can include a limit on how much can be carried over.
- Traceable entries for each change
- Carry-over rules with limits
- Remaining leave calculated for leavers

Part days and part-time patterns
Real working patterns are rarely neat. Leave can be recorded in partial days and hours, including half days and part-time patterns.
That matters for shift-based and part-time teams, where a simple day count can be misleading.
- Half days and hours
- Part-time patterns
- A fit for varied working weeks

Sickness and other absence
Sickness and other absence types are recorded separately from holiday, with return-to-work notes.
Sensitive health information can be kept in restricted cases, which only named people can open.
- Separate absence types
- Return-to-work notes
- Restricted cases for health information
